"Know How of India in a nut shell"

“We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made” –Albert Einstein.

If in a land you find “the mind is without fear & the head is held high”, you come to know that it is nowhere else than India! The mystique aura powered by the unity in diversity serves as the cliff hanger for India, needless to say that it has put the cuffs on the imagination & fancy of great minds. Nowhere on Earth does humanity present itself in such a boundless, creative burst of cultures, religions, races and tongues. It’s the huge terrestrial beak between Africa & Indonesia, this thick roughly peninsula divides the Bay of Bengal in the east, the Arabian Sea to the west & Indian Ocean in the south. India's puzzle board of 26 states holds virtually every kind of landscape imaginable. An abundance of mountain ranges and national parks provide ample opportunities for eco-tourism and trekking, and its sheer size promises something for everyone. . The history of India is as diversified as the word itself. From Pre-Historic era's Stone Age, Bronze Age, Early historic period, Vedic period, Mahajanapadas, Persian and Greek conquests, Maurya Empire, Early Middle Kingdoms — The Golden Age, Northwestern hybrid cultures, Roman trade with India, Gupta rule Late Middle Kingdoms — The Classical Age, The Islamic Sultanates, Delhi Sultanate, The Mughal era, Post-Mughal period, Colonial era, The British Raj, The Indian Independence movement, Independence and Partition Indian history has seen it all! With nearly 1 billion citizens, India is the second most populous nation & one of the largest democracies in the world. It is impossible to speak of any one Indian culture, though there are deep cultural continuities that tie its people together. English is the major language of trade and politics, but there are fourteen official languages in all. There are twenty-four languages that are spoken by a million people or more, and countless other dialects. India has seven major religions and many minor ones, six main ethnic groups, and countless holidays. Religion is central to Indian culture, and its practice can be seen virtually in every aspect of life in the country. Hinduism is the dominant faith of India, serving about 80 percent of the population. Ten percent worship Islam, and 5 percent are Sikhs and Christians; the rest (a good 45 million) are Buddhists, Jain’s, Baha’i, and more.

[Disclaimer: Till today there is no one who could complete Indian history in just a single book, as it is so vast. Thus it’s just an ignorant attempt to write up Indian history in a nut shell so that people could know about India from their pockets itself]
